One of my observations of teenagers during my teaching years was how quickly they defaulted to a position of, “This is boring” when confronted with something new. I suppose this was a defense mechanism of sorts for dealing with the fear and frustration of facing new or challenging material.
When I’m traveling to a new place I pay attention to the location of the sunset and the sunrise. The lighting at these two times of day always produces such interesting results.
It’s hard to beat the appearance of sunrise or a sunset over the ocean. This makes a coastal destination one of my favorite travel spots. No matter how tired I am in the morning, I’ll set the alarm and get up early to chase a good sunrise!
